Leg Extension


The leg extension is an isolation exercise that targets your quadriceps, the muscles on the front of your thigh. The leg extension strengthens your quadriceps. and if done correctly, is not hard on the knee joint

  1. For this exercise you will need to use a leg extension machine.

  2. First choose your weight and sit on the machine with your legs under the pad.

  3. And the hands holding the side bars.

  4. This will be your starting position.

  5. Adjust the pad so that it falls on top of your lower leg. Make sure that your legs form a 90-degree angle between the lower and upper leg.

  6. If the angle is less than 90-degrees then that means the knee is over the toes. If the machine is designed that way, either look for another machine.

  7. Extend your legs to the maximum as you exhale.

  8. Ensure that the rest of the body remains stationary on the seat.

  9. Pause a second on the contracted position.

  10. Slowly lower the weight back to the original position as you inhale.

  11. Do not go past the 90-degree angle limit.

  12. Repeat for the recommended amount of times.
